| | 3 years ago Posted on: 31 / Jan / 2010 | this is arguably 1 of the best atari 2600 games. i have made it a few times, and probably released 1 of them many years ago. i still have it lying about. it was an exact copy of the game.
this time; today i rewrote another one. people only played game 3 because it changed every time. so this one has 1 mode - its always random every time you play it. its much bigger aswell. 400 locations. (ive made around 50 or so atm) it has completed and working full inventory of stuff, keys, magnet, bridge, chalice, and extra stuff like potions (speed, slow, strength and invisible) & gold there are 5 dragons, which slightly vary in speed and ferocity. all are complete and working. the yelow, green & red dragon can be killed as norm. the blue needs you to have drunk 1or more strength potion, and the black dragon needs you to have drunk 3 or more. otherwise you just wound them, and they wont die. the bat is complete and working and will look for stuff to get and move it around. it will also try and rob you if it sees you (not when invisible) there are 5 castles - and with muliple rooms inside. the idea is still the same - get the chalice and take it to the yellow castles throne room. its all in original retro style gfx. the only thing left to do is finish the locations, and invisible mazes.
now i might make it so you can have retro gfx, and also an enhanced version. if i include the enhanced - it will take a much longer time to complete.
are there any other sort of things you like to see in the game that i may think about including (if it squeezes in without breaking anything)

| | 3 years ago Posted on: 31 / Jan / 2010 | What happened to Adventure Quest? I made loads of graphics for that. Although saying that... this sounds intriguing, I've never played the original...
And invisible mazes? That just sounds evil... | | You look a little like coffee, and you taste a little like me.

| | 3 years ago Posted on: 01 / Feb / 2010 | adventure quest doesnt ring a bell to me... do you still have the gfx? can you show me so i can try and remember. maybe its among some source i have lost. (which includes crackpot, empire strikes back, ladybug & battle qbert) - which is why i save/hoarde any sort of code/gfx etc i find now. (if you got code you wanna donate to the vault - feel free to send it) i do have quite a bit of old demo/beta stuff of old programs.. ie remember jp's little game where you shoot blocks and the othes drop? simons cave in stuff even the orig wtfd.. , yep i still have them safely put away.
the invisible maze code is completed too now. so only finish off locations. im going to add some shops, where you can go in and if you have the cash, the item will be there. -ie different potions, sword, magnet, bridge etc

| | 3 years ago Posted on: 01 / Feb / 2010 | Ahh it was Castle Quest:

Anyhow just read up the Wiki page on this and its sounds like it could be fun. And potentially straightforward to modernify (not that I'm putting myself up for it... yet)... | | You look a little like coffee, and you taste a little like me.
