Hi everyone!

My name's Andrew and I just came across this site and it looks like a great project community.

The reason I was looking is be cause I have a pet project of my own *evil laugh here* I was wondering what the requirements were to get a project posted in the "Projects" section of this site? Does it have to be done or even runnable to be posted, or is it only acoders members that can start projects?

One other person and I are working on an isometric MMORPG in java (application... not applet) currently. Right now the game is in the extreme alpha stage, as we are still trudging through game design and I am still writing the graphics and audio engines.

So far our game idea is one based around no time in particular, but involves many fantasy races such as orcs, elves, humans (ok, so not so fantasy), etc... The unique fighting structure of this game will involve generating "chi" to power summons that will make up for areas the player is weak in (such as strength, defense, magic, healing, etc). As the player progresses in the game, they have the ability to use different summons for longer periods of time.

A little about me, for anyone that is interested: I am a computer science major at Virginia Tech, in Virginia (go figure) in the states. I'm currently finishing up my second of four years of college.

In the past I have worked on too many projects to count, mostly all of them being MMORPGs of some sort. I started out programming in MUDs for any of you text-based fans, and later moved on to Java and C++ coding from scratch. After doing "Hello, World!" and your basic game of life in every language you could think of, I started getting down to the nitty gritty.

For a while I was working on a OpenGL based C++ 3D engine used in creating an up and coming game... but due to some disputes with the lead developers that project went private. Also, I have had a hand in working with the Volatile-Engine for java OpenGL at http://www.volatile-engine.com/. Sorry, no public releases yet... but their new site design is coming soon and I've heard the leads might be releasing with that!

So now you're going, great, you've worked on a ton of projects that nobody gets to see. Hurray! Yeah, sorry about that; it's not my fault I swear! I'm a good guy I promise

On top of my gaming design stuff, I also run SwitchSpark Interactive, LLC, who owns http://www.writersrock.com/ and http://www.studentinterchange.com/

Anyway, enough rambling and back to what you want to hear about: more games.

Here's the thing. In the new game being developed I've got the coding down, I've even got a lot of the music down, and I could even draw everything, but I honestly don't have the time. I could sure use a few project members So if anyone would be interested in working on sound, music, art, interface design, anything for a new project, just send me a shout. Help is always welcome!

And again, nice to meet you guys!
