damn, i guess i haven't kept up with this topic, so here it is.

Counter Balance is coming along nicely. I thought i would give some details on how the game will be played.

Basically CB plays like some other puzzle games like collapse (check out msn games or www.shockwave.com) The basic premise is to destroy blocks and gain points. Blocks are destroyed in different ways...but the main way being that any group of blocks in 3 or more, can be destroyed by clicking on them. the more blocks in a "chain" the more points you are awarded. One way in which CB is different from other games of this kind is that CB takes place on 2 sides of a balancing scale. So basically the more blocks on a side of the scale will weight it down, if the scales become too unbalanced, then its game over.

So you basically have to play off of both sides of the scale balancing them. While all of this is happening, there is a "regeneration" row which keeps adding blocks to the playing areas on both sides of the scale. If you allow the blocks to touch the top of the playing area, its game over too.

There are several specialty blocks that will aid you along the way.

Speed up regeneration block - this blocks speeds up the regeneration row (used in 2 player to make your opponents regen. row faster)

slow down regen. block - this slows down regeneration of your regen. row.

hour glass - this temporarily freezes regen. row, giving you some extra time to think about moves and clear the playing area.

bomb - this will destroy blocks that come in immediate contact with it and is the only way to destroy "heavy blocks"

heavy blocks - this block adds extra weight to that particular side of the scale. (this block is not to your advantage and must be destroyed by a bomb or Ac block)

bubble - a bubble is the exact opposite of a heavy block, it lightens the weight of that particular side of the scale.

Ac bomb - Ac bombs act like regular bombs, but are much more powerful

Ying/Yang block - this block will change all the blocks from one side of the scale with all of the blocks from the other side (switches blocks from one side to another), this is used in 2 player (for example, if you have alot of blocks and are getting in trouble, the ying yang block will allow you to switch all the blocks in your playing area for all the blocks in your opponents playing area, thus putting him in trouble.

2 player is where this game will really shine. competing with your opponent and trying to keep your side lighter than theres will be where gameplay will come in hand.

well, jimbob and i are rethinking the gameplay aspect of CB. The game has huge potential...that is if it is set up correctly. hope to have more for you soon.
