Acoders Indie Game Making Competition 2004 |
| | | Intro Winners Rules Judging Prizes Sponsors Resources Forum Faq | sponsors: Judging
All submitted entries will be judged and awarded a maximum of 3500 points from each judge. The total available to an entry after adding up each judges score, is 24500 points. To make it easier for the judges to mark, they will be asked to give the individual categories a mark between 0-100. This will then be multiplied accordingly, to get the correct amount shown below.
Example: Judge marks game 78.5 out of 100 for a particular category that has a maximum of 1000 points. Score is calculated like so: Score = 1000 / 100 * 78.5 So the calculated score for this example would be 785 out of 1000
It may seem over-complicated, but the reasoning is it will be easier for the judges to mark out of 100, rather than out of 145.
We have tried to split the marking categories into a fair spread. We have opted to promote gameplay over graphics, as we feel this will produce some more interesting entries. When planning your game, take into consideration each category, and how much you aim to win in that category. Doing this will enable you to target the category, or categories your best suited too
Below are all the categories the judges will be using, as well as the maximum points you can win for each:
