Introduction

Acoders would like to welcome you to our first indie game making competition in which, thanks to our sponsors, we are able to bring you some fantastic prizes.

Programmers ranging from a single person garage hobbyist to a team of freeware developers are welcome to enter. Our goal is to promote indie game developers and the products they use. Your entries will potentially be downloaded and played by thousands of people and this combined with the opportunity to win some exciting prizes, should make for an excellent competition.

The theme of the "Acoders Indie Game Making Competition 2004" is time, and time manipulation. All games entered into the competition will be judged primarily on how well they use the time theme, which could range from collecting pieces of a clock, to time travel or even to "Matrix" style time compression.

To give everyone an equal chance the judging will not revolve simply around "graphics" or "gameplay". While there will be points to earn in these categories, the emphasis is on the competition theme. By doing this we hope to achieve some truly original game types, and a fair competition for all.

If you are interested please sign-up to the Acoders member system and take a quick browse over to our forums. When you are ready to find out more, take the time to navigate the various sections above. All finished entries can be submitted automatically with your member account, ready for when it is time for the judges to judge.

Best of luck from the Acoders staff!
